Taking a piece of history from the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP) this time, the Pakistan Pavilion is bound to stand out from the crowd, says the man leading the team organising the affairs of the pavilion this year.

Dr Saeed Khan Mohmand, counsellor and head of Chancery at the Pakistan Consulate in Dubai said, “The pavilion this time is designed as Bab-e-Khyber (Khyber Pass) which is a very famous landmark in the NWFP.” The Khyber Pass is a 53-km passage through the Hindu Kush mountain range which connects the northern frontier of Pakistan with Afghanistan.

Officially, the pavilion will be inaugurated on December 21. “Finishing touches are being given to the pavilion,” he added. Last year, a famous landmark from the Punjab province of Pakistan, the Shalimar Gardens, was much appreciated by the UAE based Pakistani community.
