Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has said the government would ensure holding of free, fair and transparent elections, which was the only way to strengthen democracy.The Pakistan People’s Party and its allies will again emerge victorious in the next election with the support of masses, he said while addressing notables from his home town Gujjar Khan at an Iftar dinner at the Prime Minister’s House.
The prime minister said all the state institutions were vital and the PPP gave them due respect. Ashraf thanked the party leadership and allied parties for nominating him for the slot of premiership and assured them that the PPP would continue to take along its allies.
The prime minister said that it was the beauty of democracy that a worker like him had been made the prime minister.
The PPP workers always confronted the dictators and stood by the party through thick and thin, he added.
