The committee tasked with identifying children of UAE nationals born abroad continued its Asian tour covering India, Pakistan, Philippines, and Indonesia.
The committee, chaired by Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalisation, Residency and Ports Affairs, Major-General Nasser Al Awadi Al Menhali, interviewed a number of children in Indonesia during the past days.
The effort, upon the directives of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is being followed up by Lt-General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
Maj-Gen Al Menhali said the committee considered applications for a number of cases and carried out necessary medical examinations in preparation for reuniting them with their kith and kin and integrating them into the UAE society.
He explained that the return of the children born to Emirati fathers reflects the keenness of the President to bring them home wherever they are.
Maj-Gen Al Menhali thanked the UAE embassy in Indonesia for facilitating the committee’s work and said that the committee will soon leave for Philippines and Pakistan.
