Park reigns supreme

KT Report / 26 May 2012

A superb field of golfers gathered for the final ERL Monthly Stableford of the winter season at Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club.

Scoring was very good on a day where the temperature didn’t swell and hinder the play too much, as five golfers managed to beat the par for the course.

Coming out on top by virtue of a scorecard countback was Korean golfer Young Park, a sublime finish over her final 6 holes where she bagged 16 points helped her to pick up the Overall Winners Trophy with a score of 39. Just losing out on that overall winners spot but claiming the Division 1 prize was Iranian golfer Hassan Yazdi who also returned his scorecard with 39 points, a great knock for the 6 handicapper, with a level gross score on the back.

The division 2 prize went to Scottish golfer William Neilson, a score of 38 was good enough to see off his fellow division 2 competitors, Neilson is enjoying a superb season of golf and his handicap is tumbling week on week. Finally the best gross for the day went to John Gould who scored 30 gross stableford points and just piped Roy Holmes on a countback.
